What Has Been, Is and Could Be

Exhibition Design · Spatial Narrative · Stockholm Furniture Fair, Sweden 2024

What Has Been, Is and Could Be is an immersive exhibition developed for Stockholm Furniture Fair 2024, exploring the interconnectedness of ecosystems and the consequences of human intervention in natural systems. The project investigates forests as living, finite systems, shaped by cycles of growth, extraction, loss and potential regeneration.

The exhibition was conceived as a response to the increasing dissonance between being in nature and being of nature, questioning how materials are sourced, used and valued at a time of ecological strain. Rather than presenting forests as passive resources, the project reframes them as communicative and interdependent ecosystems, inviting visitors to reflect on responsibility, care and future possibilities.

The exhibition was developed as a second-year Bachelor project and curated through a competitive selection process. It was dedicated to Fylleryd, a protected nature reserve near Växjö that has been partially clear-cut due to urban expansion.
